    EVM ASIA 2021 NEWS: MALAYSIA’S VACCINATION START END FEB; INFECTIONS DOWN TO DOUBLE DIGIT IN MAY; VACCINE VISA PLANNED  
       
    KUALA LUMPUR: The Business Events sector in Malaysia looks set to recover with EVM ASIA 2021 – the Region’s No.1 Electric, Hybrid Vehicles, Technology and Auto Parts & Component Exhibition among the first events to be staged in 2021. Held in partnership with the Malaysian Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute, EVM ASIA 2021 will showcase some of the biggest brands including ABB, Huawei, Hitachi, Nissan, Proton, Tesla, Toyota, Schneider and expected to be attended by 10,000 trade visitors.
 
       
    The Health Ministry projects two-digit Covid-19 cases by May, in line with the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO). This was announced by the Health Director-General, Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, as the number of cases has dropped from its recent peaks.  
       
     
       
    At the same time, the Minister of Health, Dato’ Sri Dr. Adham Baba announced that the Government’s vaccination programme will roll out on 26th February that will cover 12.8 million people. A budget of RM3 billion has been allocated for the programme and agreements have been signed with Pfizer, AstraZeneca and COVAX.  
       
    Malaysia Aviation Group Bhd, parent of Malaysia Airlines are in talks to implement a ‘health passport’ that can be the first step to ensuring the safe reopening of international travel. Discussions are also underway between airlines and aviation bodies and technology providers to facilitate seamless experience for travellers.
